Casa de Piedra - Valle de Guadalupe
Day 5 of our Valle de Guadalupe wine tour. We checked out of Adobe Guadalupe. We had breakfast and said goodbye to Mrs Miller. We headed down the valley to Casa de Piedra. This winery is another one of the long timers in the valley making great wine. Here Daniella, one of the family members, does our tasting. We start off with their true method sparkling wine. And it's a great one in that! It's actually the only true method that we have tasted from the Mexico. And they followed up with their Chardonnay. Only 300 cases made and not available in the US. We wanted to smuggle a case back! Whats really interesting about this winery is that they have property in France and South America. They actually send over the grapes to blend with the local grapes. And those are knockout wines as well. We didn't get to eat at their restaurant because it was closed due to the rain. Next time Daniella promised to greet us with oysters! This winery isn't far from Ensenada. It make a quick trip from the city.
